ASIMCO Shanxi has introduced a set of robotic box-closing devices, which can complete the blending and tilting of sand cores with the support of KR600 large-load robots. The laser-guided grabbing of sand cores by robots can improve product quality and reduce labor intensity.

Robotic box-closing system uses the visual system assembled by robots and conducts online positioning of workpiece through visual software, so that robots can accurately grab sand cores and close boxes. What’s more, the core-setting precision and the surface quality of sand cores can be tested online, and the location of internal sand cores as compared to external sand cores and the type of sand cores can be tested independently.

With the flexible design, a set of clamps is adaptable to sand cores of different specifications, which not only saves the troubles of manual clamp change, increase the product switching efficiency and reduce cost of clamps, but avoid the improper operation involved in manual change.  The use of robots in tilting and box closing of sand cores has reduced manual labor and damage to sand cores, and makes blending of sand cores more efficient.
