ASIMCO's "2021 Special Training on Teams' Safety Management" successfully concluded
2021.08.24

ASIMCO Group's special training on teams' safety management and communication activity which was based on the model of “training-practice-improvement” was organized on August 24-31, 2021. A total of 39 employees, including the EHS team members and some production managers from six operating companies, participated in the training and communication in the form of web conference.

The representatives from all the operating companies shared their ideas about the teams' safety management work and improvement possibilities on August 24. All the participants learned from one another through discussion and communication. Afterwards, ASIMCO Group's EHS manager Cui Yusen gave a special training Teams’ Safety Management, in which some internal cases were used to show that safety management should be especially stressed in frontline management work and production process and to illustrate that the central concern of teams' safety management work is to help frontline managers and workers enhance their awareness of safety and ability to forestall harms. Mr. Cui explained the specific methods for on-job case-based education and training for teams, as well as the related implementation steps.

In the next week, all the operating companies waited for no time to organize the on-job case-based education and training activities. On August 31, these companies shared their insights from pilot practices and identified their improvement measures.

The case-based education and training activities that lasted from 2019 to 2021 have gradually developed from the group-level activities to the teams-level activities in each operating companies. The frontline managers and workers were encouraged to identify and control risks in their everyday operation and work. In this way, a more active approach to safety management has been found. Thus, a feasible method has been created to build a dual prevention mechanism featuring hierarchical control of safety hazards and investigation and handling of potential safety problems, and to meet the requirements of the new Law on Work Safety.

Safety is a timeless topic. ASIMCO Group's EHS improvement work involved quite a few activities, including "Machine Safety and Protection" in 2017, "EHS Experiential Training" in 2018, "Electrical Safety Management" in 2019, "Forklift Safety Management" in 2020 and "Teams' safety Management" in 2021. When specific work and vulnerabilities were taken into consideration, different improvement themes were introduced and the process and model of "training-practice-improvement" were adopted to consolidate primary-level management and increase safety performance for all the operating companies.

We hope that safety awareness can get internalized in hearts and externalized in actions. Every employee can integrate safety awareness into their everyday work.
